Our Modular Waypoint Pilot Programme is a ‘step-by-step’ approach comprising:
1. Satisfy the JAA pre-entry requirement and Hold a PPL issued by an ICAO member state.
2. Enrol upon an one of our ATPL Theoretical Knowledge courses of training (either Full-Time Classroom or Distance Learning course) and pass the 14 JAA examinations to a minimum competency standard set by OAA.
3. Achieve the minimum of 150 hours of total flight time (including a Night Qualification) which must include 70 hours P1 required to enrol upon our course of professional pilot training (MECPL). These 150 hours of total experience do not necessarily need to be achieved through OAA.
4. Enrol upon and complete the professional Flight Training steps of the waypoint Pilot Programme at an OAA Airline Training Centre (Oxford or Goodyear).
5. As waypoint Pilot Programme trainees, you will also be entitled to personal skills development. Those that perform to the exacting standards required by airline employers may also receive employment support and be recommended for appropriate employment opportunities that become available on an opportunity basis.
Below is a diagram which illustrates how the waypoint Pilot Prgramme is designed.
Note that the Jet Operations Course at the end of the course is optional.
