The main aim of this CBT is to give pilot-oriented training in Aviation Met theory and to teach pilots to use this theory to interpret met forecasts and reports in order to plan safe and expeditious flying sorties. The secondary aim of the CBT is to teach pilots how to extract and interpret met information from the Met Office's web site.

Gas Turbine Engines

This computer based training course in Gas Turbines teaches the subject of gas turbine engines up to and beyond the standard required by the EASA/JAA Air Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL) syllabus. Gas Turbines together with its companion CD-ROM, Aircraft Piston Engines covers the the complete EASA/JAA ATPL Powerplant syllabus. The two CD-ROMs together contain over 500 ATPL-style questions and answers on the subject, Powerplant.

This Gas Turbines course also covers all EASA/JAA objectives for the ATPL helicopter gas turbine syllabus, except for those pertaining specifically to helicopter engine intakes.

VFR RT Communications UK Supplement

The VFR RT UK Airspace Supplement is intended to complement OAAmedia's main VFR radiotelephony (RT) tutor. It contains lessons on the differences in UK RT procedures from those of ICAO and is designed for students who do most of their flying in UK airspace. It covers such things as the Lower Airspace Radar Service (LARS), VFR flying in military airspace, the control of aircraft wishing to penetrate danger areas and aspects of the emergency service which are particular to the UK.

IFR Radio Telephony (RT) Communications

This IFR RT tutor is designed to follow on from the international VFR RT tutor. It covers the IFR elements of the JAR Communications syllabus and contains many examples of RT which might be used when flying IFR in both uncontrolled and controlled airspace. The tutor is intended for the pilot who has completed the VFR tutor and now wishes to expand his/her knowledge and skills to IFR situations. A thorough knowledge of VFR RT procedures is therefore essential before starting the lessons on this CD.
