We are proud of our relationships with the local communities both in the UK and the USA. We encourage our students and staff to support the local community through interesting project work in the community as well as supporting guided tours of our facilities for the Air Cadets, Scouts, Brownies, etc, and school class visits from the local area. ![]() At each of our main events each year we aim to raise funds for the charities which we support:
DreamflightDreamflight seeks to bring some relief to this anguish by sending gravely ill children and their parents to Disney World for the holiday of a lifetime. It may not sound like much help when a cure for cancer or other diseases would be so much better, but for many, the medical breakthrough they need will not come in time. Dreamflight provides an opportunity to children, just for a week, to suspend the misery and replace it with smiles and laughter. The benefit however, lasts much longer. From the moment a child learns he or she will get a Dreamflight, the anticipation takes their mind off their current circumstances. The photographs and memories of a terminally ill child enjoying life, even for just a few days, last a lifetime and beyond for the parent’s of those who don’t win their battle with disease. The total raised for our nominated charity, DREAMFLIGHT, so far is £4,850.00!!
Race For Life 2006
A popular nationwide event, the (women-only) Race For Life 2006 took place in Oxford University Parks in July this year. Armed with pink shirts and with plenty of training behind them, the girls of our Customer Services and Sales team setoff on the 5km run around the University Parks. A huge number of people turned out to complete the race for either family members or friends close to their hearts who suffer from or have passed away due to the effects of cancer. Completing the event successfully in just 46 minutes, the girls were proud to have raised nearly £600 for Cancer Research UK - the UK's leading charity dedicated to cancer research. After a long run in the baking heat of summer the team are already discussing next years Race For Life, as well as other Race For Life events in the local towns and cities around Oxford! For now though it's back home in time for tea and medals and further training for future fundraising efforts.
